The BEMORE Summer Bootcamp 4 Girls Naija, a program organized by HE Betty AnyanwuAkeredolu through her foundation, BEMORE Empowered Initiative, is aimed at bridging the gender parity gap and empowering the female folk by educating and empowering young girls in the field of ICT and renewable energy. From 2017 till date, 755 girl children from remote communities in Nigeria have been opportune to be a part of an intensive two week summer boot camp where they were trained in ICT, solar technology and other life enhancing skills like; leadership, entrepreneurship, crafts etc. With an understanding that empowering the girl-child through ICT and Renewable energy can increase her influence in the community, selfactualization and overall human capacity, these girls are also trained to become breast cancer advocates in their respective communities. Currently, all the girls are boldly creating breast cancer awareness in communities that have very little knowledge of breast cancer and they are achieving amazing results. Noting a few of the success stories; Tolu Ehimason, a secondary school student of Stella Maris College, Okitipupa was able to build a solar powered oven which she donated to her school. Also, Tomisin Tomoloju, a Fiwashaye secondary school girl, won the Africa Code Week Scratch Competition for Ondo state. Barely a week after the completion of the 2018 Edition of the BEMORE Summer Boot Camp held in Ondo state, one of the participants Marvelous Jegede powered her home with solar energy.
